„Smart School: Bridging Generations” is a social initiative aimed at fostering meaningful connections between young people (under 18) and seniors aged 65 and above. The project encourages youth to support older adults in their daily lives while promoting intergenerational learning, empathy, and digital inclusion.
In today’s rapidly evolving technological world, we want to create a space where the energy and digital fluency of young people can meet the life experience and wisdom of seniors. This initiative reflects the values of the Smart School model – modern, collaborative, and future-oriented education.
Project Goals:-
Support seniors in navigating everyday digital tasks such as using smartphones, video calls, online shopping, or medical apps.
-
Break age-related stereotypes and foster respect and understanding between generations.
-
Engage students in meaningful community service that develops social responsibility and emotional intelligence.
-
Cultivate soft skills among youth, such as communication, patience, and teamwork.
-
Promote the principles of Smart School – learning through innovation, collaboration, and real-world application.
Sample Activities:
-
Digital literacy workshops for seniors led by students – focusing on basic tech skills, internet safety, and digital tools for everyday use.
-
Storytelling sessions: “When I Was Your Age” – seniors share personal stories while youth document them in digital formats such as podcasts, blogs, or short videos.
-
Mini Smart School Projects – students create simple instructional videos or interactive guides to help seniors use technology confidently.
-
Community Engagement Days – shared activities like walks, grocery shopping, book reading, or gardening that strengthen personal bonds beyond the screen.
